How to Make Sweet Soup (Tao Pho) – Delicious and Smooth

As a refreshing dish with a cooling effect, suitable for enjoying on hot summer days, tofu has won the hearts of many people. Tofu with sugar water also has other names such as tofu, tofu with sugar water, tofu, etc. Tofu is made from soybeans with ivory white color, fleshy taste and light aroma, so it is easy to make people fall in love. Tofu, which is soft and melts like jelly, is one of the favorite snacks in many Asian countries.

Material

  • 300g soybeans
  • 100g gelatin powder
  • 200g grated coconut
  • 5g tapioca flour
  • 300 white sugar
  • A little salt
  • 1 piece of ginger
  • 2-3 pandan leaves
  • Sieve, clean cloth to filter beans, pot, blender…

Making

Step 1: Processing soybeans

– Soak soybeans in water for 8-10 hours. After soaking for enough time, gently squeeze the peel to peel off, clean, keep only the peas inside, take out to dry.

– Put soybeans and 150ml of water in a blender and puree. Put everything in a sieve to filter the water. Continue to add the residue to the blender and repeat the operation 2 more times. When the beans have been milled 3 times, the rest of the residue is put in a towel to squeeze dry to remove all the water and then remove the residue.

Step 2: Make tofu (tofu)

– Put gelatin powder and about 150-200ml of filtered water in a bowl and stir until dissolved.

– Pour soy sauce into a pot and bring to a boil over medium heat. While cooking, stir well with your hands to avoid burning the pot (when boiling, do not cover the lid because soy milk is easy to overflow). When the soy milk boils, turn off the heat.

– When the soy milk cools slightly, pour in the gelatin water. Stir well until the gelatin is completely dissolved into the soy milk. At this point, we have obtained the finished product which is tofu. When the mixture is completely cooled, store it in the refrigerator for the tofu to solidify.

Step 3: Prepare other ingredients

– Peel the ginger, wash it and cut it into small pieces. Pineapple leaves washed, tied into small bunches.

Bring 500ml of filtered water, 200g of sugar, sliced ​​ginger and pandan leaves to a pot and bring to a boil. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved, when the water boils, reduce the heat, simmer until the sugar water thickens, then turn off the heat. Then remove the pandan leaves.

Step 4: Processing coconut milk

Place the grated coconut in a bowl and soak it in about 200ml of hot water for about 10-15 minutes. Use a sieve to extract the coconut milk. The coconut residue is put in a towel, squeezed dry to get the water, remove the residue.

– If you don’t have grated coconut, you can buy pre-packaged or cans of coconut milk at the market.

– Dissolve coconut milk with tapioca starch and bring to a boil in a saucepan over low heat. When the coconut water boils, add 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt and stir well until the seasoning is completely dissolved. Simmer over low heat until the coconut milk is thickened, then turn off the heat.

Step 5: Finish and enjoy

– Scoop the tofu into a bowl, add 1 tablespoon of ginger sugar and 1 tablespoon of coconut milk on top to enjoy. Tofu with sugar water can be used cold (add ice) or hot as you like.

Eating tofu with sugar water makes you fat?

Tofu and soy products are rich in protein and even higher than animal meat. Therefore, many people think that it can completely replace animal protein sources, both safe and cheaper, and easier to lose weight. This is not correct.
